The house we are renting has two doors, the one in the front which leads to the receiving area (sala) and another one at the back leading to the dirty kitchen. Whenever a door opens or is left unattended, you can expect the kids (my nephew Elijah, especially) to run and immediately and escape to the outside world when they think no one is looking at them.
When Svet was younger she was worse than Elijah, but now El is the king of escape. He never, and I mean never, fails to do that. He loves going out but you can’t expect him to go inside the house on his own afterward because he’ll just cry very, very loud in your face.
I wonder, if Paulie would put exit signs in our bedrooms, will Elijah stop eyeing the exit doors and start going inside the bedrooms instead? Nah. I guess not. He doesn’t recognize signs, after all. He can hardly speak properly, come to think of it. LOL. Oh well. We have to think of another strategy to prevent him from sneaking out. Maybe his mother will start by actually going out more often with the kid, so he doesn’t miss the outside world like a madman.
