We will be talking about the movie here, not the product (I haven’t used one since my high school recognition/graduation days). Reason why we watched it? It was recommended by one of my closest cousins. She’s a movie freak so I get most of my must-watch recommendations from her. I haven’t seen a lot of John Travolta movies see (not a fan), and didn’t even read the plot of the movie (nor saw the original film or the Broadway version) before we watched it.
So forgive me if by the end of the movie, I still haven’t figured out where the fork John Travolta was in the film. I swear. I was like where the heck is John?! I didn’t even see him once in the movie! Did we watch the right movie?
It turns out, ladies and gentlemen, that I have been staring straight at him half of the movie. Who else but a birdbrain (like moi) can fail to see the resemblance? But I have to say that Travolta in drag is not exactly the role I was expecting of him in the film. The best Travolta movies I’ve seen (Face/Off and Pulp fiction) has him in more serious roles, and I tell you, I was really flabbergasted when I learned that he was actually Edna Turnblad in the movie. I guess I just haven’t seen enough films of him.
What do you think? John Travolta in From Paris With Love? Is that a good movie to start with?
