As some of you may know, aside from this WordPress blog, I also have a Blogger blog. Although I am a huge WordPress fan, I have come to love Blogger over the time that I hosted a blog in there. Features-wise, Blogger has a long, long (and I do mean LONG) way to go to get ahead of WordPress (or at least be at par with it) as a blogging platform. So here’s a list of things that I wish Blogger have which could make blogging a LOT easier for us who have a blog hosted there:
- An Archives page. WordPress has them (or at least, has plug-ins that enables them). It will make Blogger sidebars a lot cleaner.
- A maintenance mode setting. It would be so much more err.. informative for our Blogger readers to know that we are out for a while, doing what-nots to improve our blog, and not have to resort to the Permission settings which will greet your readers to the message that the blog is open to invited readers only.
- An option for password-protected posts. Our recent blogversary contest brought about that idea. It would be a great feature, don’t you think?
- A New Page button right at the dashboard. I know, I know. It’s not everyday that we create a page (which is why I think Blogger didn’t see the need for that) but for template designers like moi who install Blogger themes more often than the average person, it would mean less clicking to get to the Add A New Page page.
That’s all I could think of right now. I thought I had at least seven. Oh well. The eternal amnesiac. What do you want to add to this list? 🙂
